A Word from Carol Details, Details Are you good at details? If you decide to sell your home without a real estate professional, you will need to pay a great deal of attention to details. Before offering your home for sale, you must decide on a price. This involves an analysis of properties in your area that have recently sold and homes that are currently on the market. It is useful to get an outside opinion about the condition of your home from a home inspector, and to make the recommended repairs or cosmetic improvements.
You should be familiar with aspects of buyer financing, such as current interest rates, discount points, and fees that are subject to frequent changes. When you locate
Pending Home Sales On An Upswing (by Realtor.org) Pending home sales increased again in March, affirming that a surge of home sales is unfolding for the spring home buying season, according to the National Association of Realtors®. The Pending Home Sales Index,* a forward-looking indicator based on contracts signed in March, rose 5.3 percent to 102.9 from 97.7 in February, and is 21.1 percent above March 2009 when it was 85.0; this follows an 8.3 percent increase in February. The data reflects contracts and not closings, which usually occur with a lag time of one or two months. Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, said favorable affordability conditions have been working with the tax credit. “Clearly the home buyer tax credit has helped
Give Your Cat Clean Air
Dust, smoke, and airborne kitty litter particles could spell trouble for a cat's lungs. Cats exposed to household allergens such as these may experience lung inflammation, which could trigger asthma attacks in kitties that are prone to them. To reduce indoor pollution, use a HEPA filter, vacuum frequently, and switch to a dust-free kitty litter. If your cat wheezes or has a hacking cough, see your veterinarian for an accurate diagnosis.

stabilize the market. In the months immediately following the expiration of the tax credit, we expect measurably lower sales,” he said. “Later in the second half of the year, and into 2011, home sales will likely become self-sustaining if the economy can add jobs at a respectable pace, and from a return of buyer demand as they see home values stabilizing.” The PHSI in the Northeast declined 3.3 percent to 75.1 in March but remains 27.2 percent higher than March 2009. In the Midwest the index increased 1.2 percent to 98.9 and is 18.5 percent above a year ago. Using punishment to achieve a desired behavior can be confusing to your dog and can erode your dog's trust in you. Instead, reward good behavior with positive reinforcement in the form of praise, a food treat, or a toy. Offer the reward immediately and consistently. Your dog is eager to please you, so you don't need to give food or toys for every good behavior. But always let your dog know when he or she has done something good by giving enthusiastic verbal praise immediately.
Begonias There are many different varieties that thrive as houseplants, including those with colorful blooms as well as types with striking foliage. Plant the fibrous-rooted types: semperflorens, commonly called wax begonias; cane begonias with cane-like stems, called "angel wings"; and *
Watering: Water when the soil is dry to the touch, down 1/2 inch until the water rushes out of the drainage holes. Repeat this procedure. Remember clay pots dry out more quickly than plastic or glazed ceramic pots. (More)

Sudoku The New Addiction! Just in case you've never played before. The object of the game is to fit the numbers 1-9 in the correct orders. You need to fill a number from 1 to 9 in every blank cell. A number must appear only once in each row, column and 3x3 block. Sounds easy enough. Don't give up. Once you get the hang of it, its very fun and challenges your brain. (If you don't see the game on the left please try refreshing your screen. You can use F5 or your refresh button.) |
